RVA Asphalt Sealcoating Services

Fantastic Customer Service and Skilled Seal Coating

RVA Asphalt and Sealcoating has over 10 years of experience seal coating asphalt pavement throughout Richmond VA and the surrounding areas. Our knowledgeable and courteous crew is equipped for both large and small projects. We serve homeowners and businesses in Richmond and the surrounding areas like Glen Allen, North Chesterfield and Mechanicsville, VA.

Why is Seal Coating Important?

With Virginia’s weather being as diverse and variable as it is, sealing is important to prevent damage from all of the elements the asphalt is exposed to. Your pavement is exposed to oxidation from the sun’s UV rays and wear from traffic driving over it, snow blades scraping it, and chemicals (whether dripping unintentionally, or intentionally being put down, i.e. to melt snow).

How We Help!

Our contractors perform the essential maintenance of crack filling and seal coating to prevent future expensive repairs on your parking lot, driveway, or walkway. By sealing cracks and laying down a protective barrier, your asphalt is able to be the durable sturdy surface it was made to be, without water infiltration wearing away at the base, or becoming too dry and brittle from UV rays.

Why Choose Us?

Our local Richmond, VA crew is conscientious and courteous. Before beginning a job we check if any asphalt repair is necessary – small potholes can often be patched that day, larger repairs are pre-scheduled and the sealcoating is performed after they are complete.

We always knock on your door before and after a job to make sure you know we are ready to begin and then that we have finished the job.  We start by cleaning your asphalt and trimming around objects like stone borders and walkways. Then, we fill cracks and do an excellent seal coating job. After the sealing is complete, every job site is left in impeccable shape as our contractors clean up all of their equipment and tools. Finally, we ribbon off access to make sure no one accidentally drives on it and that your sealcoat has time to dry. You’ll be able to enjoy your newly protected surface for years, as our high-quality sealer provides peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Often Do We Recommend Sealing?

Under normal circumstances, on well-maintained residential asphalt, seal coat should last 3 to 4 years if sprayed on, and if applied by brush it should last 4 to 5 years.

Which Type of Seal Coat is Best?

As far as which type of sealer is better – oil or emulsion based – if they are applied correctly, both are good products and each have their advantages and disadvantages.

However, it is very important that once you seal with oil-based or emulsion-based to stick with that sealer every time.

Do We Offer Crack Filling?

Yes we do! This is an important step to preventing water infiltration. Our crack filler is fortified with acrylic rubber for a strong bond with maximum flexibility. It also meets or exceeds all ASTM standards.

Which Sealcoat Do We Use?

Our contractors use coal tar emulsion based sealer. It provides up to 50% greater wear than non-fortified sealers, making it ideal for high-traffic areas. It also meets and exceeds rigorous FAA requirements for airport pavements and meets government and ASTM specifications.

In the fall, as temperatures drop, we switch to a high-quality oil-based sealer.
